Escape Plan (2013)

Escape Plan: The Extractors (2019). Spiritual Movie Review - Jacklyn A. Lo

The Escape Plan (2013) by director Mikael Håfström is a thought-provoking movie.

To clarify, this film is about transforming problems into challenges, solving them, and gaining additional energy potential.

For example, the film begins with a smaller scale problem, which the main character Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) solves elegantly.

hardworking

This became possible because the protagonist worked on such cases for a long time and gained experience, skills, and self-confidence.

energy potential

However, the next task has a much higher energy potential than the previous ones, and therefore Ray decides to quit.

no-choice situation

But this is a situation without a choice, and the hero has no chance to avoid this tough problem.

a team

After that, skillfully moving in a difficult environment, Ray makes a strategic decision – to create a team.
This is necessary to increase energy potential.

extra energy potential

Using all his physical, intellectual skills and strategic partners’ help, Ray breaks through, winning the case and solving the problem.

As a result, he receives additional energy potential.

spiritual

In conclusion: why do I put this film in the “Spiritual Films” section?

The West’s usual understanding of spirituality is that spiritual matters are judged primarily by devotion to God.

liberation

However, this is only partly true.

To achieve liberation, a person must also gain the high energy potential necessary to reach Heaven.
