The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005). Spiritual Movie Review - Jacklyn A. Lo

The movie “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)” ( director Andrew Adamson) is a fascinating journey to a parallel world.

Narnia

This parallel fairytale world is called Narnia, and it has its own unbelievable inhabitants.

However, the main protagonists in this film are human kids who have found a portal to this kingdom.

Parallel worlds around Earth

Following the New Age, there are seven parallel worlds around our Earth.

Each of these worlds is full of various creatures. These inhabitants have different appearances and capabilities comparable with humans. For example, some of them are goblins, and some are boggarts, among others.

Supernatural

In Narnia, all animals can talk, and some other creatures show supernatural power. For example, a witch can turn a living person into a frozen statue.

Typically, residents between parallel worlds do not communicate with each other, except in certain circumstances.

Following the New Age, there are several portals on Earth. One of the most famous is the Bermuda Triangle. In the Chronicles of Narnia, the portal is the wardrobe.

Prophecy

Per prophecy, Narnia will be freed from the power of the White Witch by a human’s hand.

Moreover, prophecy as a spiritual awakening element is a very mysterious concept, which normally charms and scares people. Thus, from a spiritual point of view, prophecy is a destiny.

We also can say that destiny is a scenario written for a land, person, or even a civilization.

In this movie, the prophecy gives hope

Time

Another exciting spiritual element in the story is time.

Time in the parallel world runs in a different way to our world. Kids, spending in Narnia several years, return home at the same age they had when they started their long journey to fairytale land.

spiritual-awakening elements

In conclusion, the film “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” introducing fascinating spiritual-awakening elements is recommended for anyone without an age limit.
